Celteg Medieval mead – 75cl

This unique, smooth and sweet Medieval Mead uses the oldest recipe Celteg have been able to find for producing mead, although they have excluded the rotten crab apples since they think that modern taste buds are not into such flavours. With it’s rich golden, honeycomb finish, this has quickly become one of the most popular Meads in the UK and certainly a favourite of our customers.

Did you know…? Mead is the oldest alcoholic drink ever discovered. Mead was found in the tomb of Tutankhamun and it was also highly valued by the Romans. What’s more, medieval monks seem to have been weaned on Mead for many hundreds of years.

Serving Suggestion: Classically served cold with an array of meats and cheeses. Served hot (best heated to 50 – 55°C) with array of spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, star anise, allspice and cardamom. Add a slice of orange for an extra zesty tang.
